This means they stayed asleep long and had a more restful night’s sleep.

The study was conducted over a seven day period with 20 participants. During the study, the participants were divided into two groups. The first group was asked to drink a glass of tart cherry juice before bed, while the second group drank a placebo. They researchers found that the group that drank the cherry juice enjoyed better sleep over the other group. The team found also found that the group who drank the cherry juice took less naps and had increased amount of melatonin their body compared to the placebo. Additional Natural Remedies for Getting a Better Night’s Sleep

1: Diet. Eating the right foods are as vital as avoiding certain foods, too. For example, avoid caffeine and alcohol with a few hours of bedtime. Add foods like milk, oats, banana’s and honey to your daily diet.

2: Exercise: According to the American Academy of Sleep, individuals that exercise regularly tend to have reduced anxiety and stress and reduces insomnia

3: Turn off the technology. Avoid watching TV, using your computer, Ipad or other technology within a few hours before bedtime. The reason is the bright computer screens reduces natural levels of melatonin and can cause sleep disruptions and increase the risk of insomnia.
